Identity Theft Red Flag Program -
Time Is Running Out to Meet the November 1st Deadline!

Live webinar: September 24, 2008
12 PM EST to 1:00 PM EST
(9:00 AM PST to 10:00AM PST)
International Financial Reporting Standards

Presented as part of BDO USA, LLP's Ac'senseSM series, the Ac'senseSM Identify Theft Red Flag Program – Time is Running Out to Meet the November 1st Deadline! continues our tradition of lending a helping hand to financial management and audit committees to stay on top of today's hot topics and developments.

In this session, Tim Mohr, Principal and Susan Galli, Director, within the BDO Consulting Practice, will present an overview of the Federal Trade Commission and the financial institution regulators issuance of their final rules on Identity Theft Red Flags and Notices of Address Discrepancy and what companies need to do to satisfy the November 1, 2008 deadline for program compliance.

This event is intended for our valued clients and contacts, including audit committees, board members, management, finance and compliance professionals of both public companies and private companies that are subject to these new rules. The new rules are broad-reaching and will impact all companies that must develop, approve and implement Identity Theft Red Flag Programs aimed at the detection, prevention, and mitigation of identify theft. These include financial institutions and creditors (e.g., retailers, automobile dealers, utility and telecommunications companies, etc.) that offer or maintain “covered accounts.”

Learning Objectives
After this webcast, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the requirements under the new federal rules on how to establish an effective identity theft prevention, detection and mitigation program required under the new rules
